Throwback Thursday: Bim Skala Bim Perform at JP Pond in 1992

Bim Skala Bim, Boston Ska Est. 1983

This week’s throwback takes us to Jamaica Plain Pond in 1992 where Bim Skala Bim performed at what was called the Party in the Park. It looks like this event still exists, but the website refers to it as “celebrating it’s 12th anniversary” so I’m guessing it’s something else (something decidedly fancier).  If you know more about this event series, please chime in on the comments. Who else played? How long did it go on for?

Here they are performing the upbeat third wavey “Wise Up,” the first track off their 1990 album “How’s it Goin’?

For those hankering for a Bim fix, or for those who have yet to see these Boston America ska pioneers in action, you can see them July 24, 2015 at the Middle East. Here’s our show preview and here’s the ticket link. Stay glued to the calendar for more show listings.
