Warped Tour Line Up Includes Ska Bands This Year

Yup, that’s the headline. This year there will actually be a few ska bands. More than one! Last year we didn’t even cover the tour. We figure if there were bands you wanted to see (and there were one or two I would have seen), you’d have found them on another site. By our records, Less Than Jake played the year before, and in 2013, Big D and Reel Big Fish played.

Much to our genuine surprise, ska has returned to Warped! Long time Warped regulars Less Than Jake and Reel Big Fish both return to the stage(s) this year. Newcomers The Interrupters will also be joining the tour. Tour boss Kevin Lyman confirmed LTJ in a podcast earlier this year month and the rest of the line up was announced earlier this week.

The tour comes to the Xfinity center in Mansfield on July 13 and doors open at 11am. Yes, that’s a weekday, so now is the time to request the time off. There’s a bus service running from Portland, Burlington, and Boston for those without a car to get to Mansfield.

But who else is playing?

Now, if you’re thinking to yourself, “Warped Tour used to be cool and now it sucks,” it just means you’re old and you’ve lost touch. Don’t worry, it’s just you. Warped Tour was always meant to appeal to a younger, all ages crowd. By definition, the kids taste changes. That’s how it works.

However, if you’re already whining about the good old days, you’ll be interested to know that there are quite a few legacy acts this year: New Found Glory, Sum 41, and Yellowcard are also on the bill. I’m psyched to see Teenage Bottlerocket, Masked Intruder, and Four Year Strong (from Worcester!). I’m also told Ballyhoo! and Pepper play reggae and some might be interested in that.

All the details for the MA tour stop can be found here. Grab your $43 tickets here.

Make Warped Tour Great Again

Never without a sense of humor and timing, Less Than Jake has created a special t-shirt for the tour, announcing their campaign to make “Warped Tour Great Again.” Check out the shirt below. Pre-order it now for $20 direct from the band. Purchase the shirt in advance, wear it to Warped, and get %15 off at their merch table. Which is weird because it means they’re directly encouraging people to wear the shirt of the band they’re going to see. Is there a Warped Clause to that rule?
