Darkbuster Announces Third Reunion Show

darkbuster pawtucket reunionIts a testament to the strength of Boston music that when a much-loved act suddenly reunites after an extended hiatus, only to be celebrated as if the band had never left. We’ve seen it plenty before, most notably with The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, who are going strong in the midst of their eighth year post-reunion, putting out music comparable to their earlier days and sharing bills with acts like the Foo Fighters. With each piece of news we hear about it, we think this summer’s Darkbuster reunion will be just as notable.

In response to the near-rabid reaction to the announcement of the first two reunion shows (both of which sold out within a matter of minutes), the Boston punk/ska legends have announced a third show on Saturday, August 8th at The Met in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Though the show’s location is further from the heart of Boston than the previously mentioned August 3rd and 4th dates at The Sinclair in Cambridge, chances are high that you are among the many who were not graced with the cat-like reflexes required to snag tickets to those dates. As of right now, the rest of the lineup has yet to be released, and tickets will be available this Wednesday (7/22) at noon via Etix. Naturally, this show will be sold out by this Wednesday at two minutes past noon, so plan accordingly. Check out the show’s Facebook event page for more info.

Update 7/28: Openers have been announced, as Reason To Fight, The Down and Outs, and The Worried have been added to the bill.

Check out the newest Darkbuster track “No Fear” below, which will hopefully be included on the new album the band will be announcing soon. That isn’t confirmed by any means, but, guys, I can feel this album’s presence in a manner not unlike the spiritual medium from Poltergeist. Even if it has to come from another, even spookier dimension, this album is coming and it is going to rule so much.
