Fishbone Performs “Chim Chim’s Badass Revenge” Album in Cambridge

This Wednesday, ska/punk pioneers Fishbone will perform their 1996 album “Chim Chim’s Badass Revenge” in full at The Sinclair in Cambridge.

Admittedly, this album is one I know least well of all their releases and I had to give it a thorough listen in advance of their show Wednesday. The album was panned by fans and critics but make no mistake, it’s a strong Fishbone album. It just lacked the strong ska singles I’m sure many audiences wanted in 1996. The Busta Rhymes guest appearance alone is worth the journey.

The one song you’ve probably heard is “Alcoholic” which probably ended up on a few comps and had a music video. Watch the music video below.

The band is going out of their way to promote that they’ve got some original members back for this tour. For a band that’s been performing as long as they have, I think it’s okay to excuse a few substitutions in the line up. However, I do think it will be cool to hear them same band that recorded the album perform it live.

Boston pop/punk act Rebuilder will open the night. They last released a two-song EP in November 2016 as a benefit for (Mexican-American Legal Defense & Education Fund).

Tickets were still available as of this past Saturday when I bought mine!
