The Takeaways Call It Quits, Announce Final Show

The Takeaways logoAll good things must end, and this week, notable Boston punk/ska band The Takeaways announced that they would no longer be playing shows or recording new material. Though the band hasn’t made official comment on just why they are stopping, recent news that drummer Max Rosenberg has moved across state and is seeking a new band might provide some answers.

On the bright side, the band also announced a final show at The Monkey Palace in Jamaica Plain on September 13th. The “house show” atmosphere of the Palace will surely provide a fitting capstone to the band’s half-decade run. Supporting The Takeaways are Northampton’s And The Kids and one more band that will be announced at a later date. Check the show’s Facebook event page for more information, and take another listen to the band’s most recent split EP with Philadelphia band HOSER below.

Note: Because this show is at someone’s house, we can’t exactly give out the address for a number of obvious reasons. If you have interest in going to this show (which you should!) contact bands on the bill for the address.
