Reel Big Fish Plays Royale; Five Iron Frenzy Releases New Record

20131106 rbf fifReel Big Fish’s 2013 Don’t Stop Skanking Tour kicked off yesterday with support from Five Iron Frenzy, Beautiful Bodies, and Beebs & Her Money Makers. Five Iron Frenzy will support the Boston date while Goldfinger will be supporting several dates on the tour.

This tour starts on the heels of the recent news that long-time trombone player Dan Regan will be leaving the band. The band made the announcement and included a letter from Dan noting that after 20 years, he was leaving to focus on his family and brewery. Read the full announcement on their website. We wish Mr. Regan the best of luck on the next stage of his life!

Filling Dan’s shoes will be Billy Kottage who you might have recognized as playing Trombone for Pilfers  at Applestomp or when they opened for Reel Big Fish a year ago. He also joined Big D and the Kids table for many dates of their most recent tour and for the summer on Warped. Needless to say, he’s got the chops. Welcome, Billy!

Denver, Colorado’s Five Iron Frenzy reunited in 2011 after 8 years of inactivity. Their new kickstarter-funded record “Engine of a Million Plots” will be available November 26th. Preorder it here. Also, you can follow them on Tumblr.

Also, supporting the tour will be Beebs and Her Money Makers, fresh of this summer’s Warped Tour, and Beautiful Bodies. Get to know them below.
