Billed as Canada’s largest rock festival, Amnesia Rockfest is not the first place you’d think you’d see Big D and the Kids Table. Yes, Big D are worthy of anyone’s “largest rock festival,” but it’s not often you see them on the same bill as bands like of System of a Down and Linkin Park. Also, that’s what it means to be a close-minded American. Meanwhile, Canadians are livin’ it up with bands like Rancid, Goldfinger, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Less Than Jake, The Bouncing Souls, The Suicide Machines, The Planet Smashers, and holy crap why wasn’t this a part of our “road trip” series? We owe you an apology, Boston.
In addition to all these great bands, there were tribute sets including Goldfinger covering Green Day, The Planet Smashers covering The Specials, and of course, Big D and the Kids Table covering Operation Ivy (where have we seen that before?). One YouTuber caught the whole set and did us a solid by posting it. The audio isn’t perfect but the visual is crisp and you get the energy (pun intended, sorry not sorry) of the event!
Watch the full set below. Unity was a personal highlight.
Big D has not yet directly announced their annual Halloween show. More on that to come…
