As part of our ongoing Deflategate coverage, we knew we had no choice but to join the media in asking, “who else had access to the locker room?” We were shocked and saddened to learn that Mighty Mighty Bosstones’ singer Dicky Barrett has stepped forward as “the locker room” guy, as revealed on an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. It was the right thing to do and we thank Dicky for his bravery. Watch below:
Actually, a host of other celebrities including Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, John Krasinski, Chris Evans, and Steven Tyler try to claim responsibility. Evans’ mustache really makes the whole skit for me. Dicky just starts rattling off Patriots accolades like why the hell are you even doubting Brady and his team. The video is pretty funny, and truthfully, I don’t know a damn thing about sports. Matt Damon also speaks in front of a brick wall with a framed Bosstones poster hanging on it. Anyone know where that’s hung? Is that McGreevy’s? I’ll award extra credit if you can identify the location of the post and which gig it’s advertising.
In other Superbowl/Boston/ska news, E! Online recently posted a list of tips to help Pick a Super Bowl Team to Root For Without Knowing a Thing About Football. In item number 7, they suggest considering the “Musical Influences of the Cities.” They cite “ska/punk” before New Kids on the Block, which I guess says the author knows what’s up.
You know, who am I kidding? I don’t follow sports and I wouldn’t even know Sunday was the superbowl if it weren’t for Facebook. I did read that the whole investigation was basically a waste of time. If you’re anything like me, you’ll goto a party, have a good time, and cheer on the Pats. Here’s a superbowl commercial bingo card to help.
Enjoy the game and the parties! Go Pats!
I’m thinking that Damon filmed that on set at Kimmel. Dicky Barrett is Jimmy Kimmel’s host, and I can imagine that perhaps that framed poster is hung somewhere on set or in the studio.
