Gainesville, Florida ska/rocksteady band The Duppies have set up a crowd-funding campaign with Kickstarter to fund their new album Broken Organ. The 14-song LP will be the band’s fourth, and will feature cameos from Dave Hillyard of The Slackers and Derron Nuhfer of fellow Gainesville ska band Less Than Jake. Describing the project, the page noted

“Our goal is to raise $3000 in order to put in your hands our new album “Broken Organ”. Mastering, pressing, distribution and touring with it. We want to give you back our love and music, and we appreciate any help: sharing, donations, follow ups in social media. Spread the #DuppyLove”

The album, which will be put out by Citrus Records, is currently being mastered with proceeds already acquired through the Kickstarter and is expected to be released in late June to early July. Of the $3000 goal, a little over $2000 has already been raised with over 20 days left to go, but as we’ve learned in these projects any little bit will help to reach the final goal.

As with any Kickstarter campaign, donating money nets you various perks, including obtaining the new album by digital download or physical CD and various album + t-shirt bundles. On the other end of the spectrum, donating $500 or more will get you everything included in the smaller packages, plus a private performance from the band at the location of your choosing.

You can find out more about The Duppies by visiting their official website, Facebook, and Twitter pages. You may also recognize the band from their inclusion on Less Than Jake’s Wake & Bake Weekend sampler from last year.
